The HESC-T-018 is a high-performance, universal interface converter compatible with RS-232C, RS-485, and RS-422 standards. It seamlessly converts single-ended RS-232 signals into balanced differential RS-485 or RS-422 signals, extending communication range up to 1.2 kilometers without requiring an external power supply.

Driven by a unique 'RS-232 Charge Pump', the device harvests operating power directly from the serial lines without port initialization. The HESC-T-018 features zero-delay automatic transceiver switching and intelligent I/O circuitry that autonomously governs data flow direction. Crucially, it supports jumper-free mode switching between Full-Duplex (RS-422) and Half-Duplex (RS-485), ensuring that software written for standard RS-232 operation runs flawlessly without code modifications.

Supporting baud rates from 300 bps to 115.2 kbps, the HESC-T-018 is optimized for point-to-point and point-to-multipoint remote networking between controllers, microcontrollers, and peripherals. It is widely utilized in industrial automation, smart card systems, access control, parking management, automated banking, public transit ticketing, and toll station systems.
