The HESC-T-023 is fully compliant with RS-232C, RS-422, and RS-485 standards. It converts single-ended RS-232 signals into balanced differential RS-422 or RS-485 signals.

The device features advanced TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressors). Under normal conditions, the TVS diodes maintain a high-impedance state. When the circuit is subjected to a sudden high-power surge, the TVS rapidly reduces its impedance to shunt the surge current, clamping the voltage at a predetermined level to protect sensitive circuit components from damage. This protection provides 600W per wire against lightning strikes and surges, including instantaneous over-voltage from all sources. Furthermore, low inter-electrode capacitance ensures high-speed data transmission across RS-485/422 ports.

This converter features built-in zero-delay automatic receive/transmit switching. The unique I/O circuit automatically controls data flow direction without requiring handshake signals (RTS, DTR) or jumper settings for full-duplex (RS-422) and half-duplex (RS-485) modes. The device is truly Plug & Play, compatible with all current communication software and hardware without requiring modifications to legacy RS-232 configurations.
