The HESC-T-022 is a port-powered converter featuring high-performance optical isolation. It is fully compliant with RS-232C, RS-422, and RS-485 standards, allowing it to convert single-ended RS-232 signals into balanced differential RS-422 or RS-485 signals. The built-in optical isolator provides an isolation voltage of up to 2500Vrms, ensuring robust protection against ground loops and electrical interference.
To safeguard the RS-422/485 interface, the device is equipped with advanced Transient Voltage Suppressors (TVS). This high-speed suppression technology provides 600W of lightning and ESD protection per line, defending the circuit against surge voltages and transient overvoltages from all sources. Additionally, the ultra-low inter-electrode capacitance ensures that high-speed data transmission remains stable across the RS-422/485 ports. The RS-232 side connects via a standard DB9 female connector, while the RS-422/485 output utilizes a 10-pin terminal block.
This converter features integrated zero-delay automatic transceiver switching and a proprietary I/O circuit that automatically controls the data flow direction without the need for hardware handshaking signals (such as RTS or DTR). There is no need for jumper wire settings to switch between full-duplex (RS-422) and half-duplex (RS-485) modes. The device is purely plug-and-play, maintaining full compatibility with all current communication software and hardware. No modifications are required to existing software workflows based on the original RS-232 operation mode.
